Requiem
Candles of ceremony
To honor;
Remember,
The dead, or the alive.
We are the remembrance,
For what is a memory
But perspective of what has been lost?
Memory to honor conscientiousness of
Love,
Grace,
Beauty,
Death.
This is awareness of self.
To take in account that requiem,
To behold it in its glory,
Is to truly see them in their former.
A memory lives on where they have faded.
Parting words,
Blood-stained hands,
A mere boy who tried too hard
To love,
Knowing he could not define it.
The heart, set thin,
His heart, to which we refer,
Is full of this wonder called love
And though full,
Still small.
A requiem to his heart,
Now shattered on the floor.
Do not touch this heart,
The pieces will cut you.
Flicker along the walls, candle,
Casting dancing shadows
Across my face.
This is love:
Remembrance.
