Across the living room gulf
I gaze upon your face
Across this vast and empty space
How could we end up in this place?
How could we have lost our pace?
I look across this room
I wish I could sweep away the gloom
Wield some past erasing broom
Somehow make your love re-bloom
So close but so far
Our relationship a mar
Both stuck fast in this tar
Both scoring less than par
Once again you’re on your phone
Just another mindless drone
How I wish we could atone
How I long for your lustful moan
Despite this gulf between
My love is still so keen
I know that you're not mean
But your lust has lost it's sheen
Maybe one day you will see
That you still mean much to me
I pray that one day we will be
Able to reach across this foreboding sea
Across this vast and empty space
How could we end up in this place?
How could we have lost our pace?
I look across this room
I wish I could sweep away the gloom
Wield some past erasing broom
Somehow make your love re-bloom
So close but so far
Our relationship a mar
Both stuck fast in this tar
Both scoring less than par
Once again you’re on your phone
Just another mindless drone
How I wish we could atone
How I long for your lustful moan
Despite this gulf between
My love is still so keen
I know that you're not mean
But your lust has lost it's sheen
Maybe one day you will see
That you still mean much to me
I pray that one day we will be
Able to reach across this foreboding sea
