Greener on the other side...

Leaves cover the the yard where weeds and vines have over taken
Neglected with no trimming, cutting, edging, watering or raking
Sunshine does not penetrate through the forest top
And other times the rain falls drowning out, seemly to never stop
Patchy spots give the illusion that the grounds lack nutrients to replenish the dirt
Only bugs and fungus sprout from the earth
But do I see a Magnolia tree over yonder
Surrounded by greenery , colors so beautifully soft they welcome me
Grass that caresses the skin , soil like soft lips that kiss your toes
And that centeres Magnolia tree shows
Grace and beauty , elegance and offers the shade only offered by someone who cares
As I stand here on hard ground that has gone bare, thinking this is unfair, stuck here when everything I could ever want is over there
But they say the grass is not always greener on the other side
But if the yard is love, currently where I stand everything but me is dieing inside
