Besieged (by your love)

Break yourself
Against my unyielding ramparts
Test your want
Upon my well tried walls
Batter as you may
At the portcullis of my heart
Bend and twist it
With your desperate love

I will not yield!

Set ablaze my banner
With the inferno of your desire
My standard of solitude
Untouched by such searing heat
Poison my skeleton crew
With words of undying affection
Hardened to your noise
Scarce are those residing within

I dare not yield!

Drown yourself
In my impassable moat
It’s water's
As deep, cold and bleak as I
Scale to my peak
As my heights proclaim my isolation
Softness such as yours
Cannot assail my hardened castle

I cannot yield!

Besiege me
In your wild desperation
I will retreat
Behind the draw bridge of my soul
Starve me of rations
In mad attempts to release me
Besieged by your love
But trapped only by me

Impossible to yield!
