Not In My Lifetime
I'm trying to be great like Paul Laurence Dunbar
So I work on my craft like a rapper does his bars
A star shining as bright as celestial GOD bodies
Without any desire for fame or attending parties
Everybody's in the game wanting to make a name
I'm the same but my main thing is to remain sane
Venturing in my own lane and encouraging change
It's driving me insane seeing so many snakes fangs
A change's gonna come but, uhm, when will it be
Probably not in my lifetime is what I truly believe
So should I cease writing about it coming to fruition
Is the cost of the cause too high like today's tuition
My intuition says keep paying attention and create
That something I write might prevent an early wake
So I work on my craft like a rapper does his bars
A star shining as bright as celestial GOD bodies
Without any desire for fame or attending parties
Everybody's in the game wanting to make a name
