Remind Me Who I Am

Every morning
When I rise
Remind me who I am,
When new light
comes pouring in,
Don’t let me forget,
Before my feet can touch the ground,
Remind me of my crown,
Stay with me throughout the day,
Whatever task at hand,
Speak to me in subtle ways,
That I can comprehend,
As confidant and friend,
Never let it slip my mind,
The price that you have paid,
When I face the trials
that tempt me from your ways,
I will boast of how I know
To count it all as joy,
For rest assured the war is won,
You have made the way—
And when, at night,
I lay to rest,
Recounting my mistakes,
Remind me of your grace,
Clothed in peace and free from shame,
Your name upon my lips,
As I drift and fall asleep,
Remind me of your gift,
That in your eyes,
A righteous prize,
Already, as I am,
I was claimed and given life,
To sit at your right hand,
If ever I think otherwise,
I know you’ll understand,
A thousand times again,
Remind me who I am.
