The essence of belonging
My belonging makes it clear that
I intend, quite definitively, to be
What the dominant fraternity,
In their 'rechercher' (oo! irony!)
Way, call 'his' property.
If he allows me this chance,
Then what passes between us
Will be, for another instant,
Hour, day or forever, whatever
He chooses it to be.
All else that might have been
Will become irrelevant, lost
From our focus. The thing that
Is completely unmistakable
Must be his rolling authority.
Power flows over me as a wave,
An incalculable, fucking force,
Of unimaginable, intimate tides,
I'll never want to interfere with:
The essence of belonging.
