Mask
Not too deep
under the surface
right past the tea and crumpets
pleasantries and chuckles
behind closed doors
lies the world of the unspeakable
the stuff that makes you
stick a dagger in your best friend's back
because he discovered
who is operating the projector
and because you were too much of a coward to
Admit your insecurities
under the surface
right past the tea and crumpets
pleasantries and chuckles
behind closed doors
lies the world of the unspeakable
the stuff that makes you
stick a dagger in your best friend's back
because he discovered
who is operating the projector
and because you were too much of a coward to
Admit your insecurities

Dark thoughts today... sometimes those insecurities will lead you a merry chase. It's like you gotta sneak up on them and catch them unawares.

Re: Re. Mask
Once you catch yourself in it it's good to admit, don't you think? I would never lash out at someone who tells me they are insecure or touchy about a certain issue.
Being unconcious happens. However did you ever accidently touch on somebody's stuff and all kinds of shit broke loose? You had no clue it was there because the image the person projected was very different. Or they get vindictive because they perceive you as aggressor and they don't want to face their own stuff.
I think there is opportunity in being honest with oneself and others, especially when it comes to the less pleasant topics. If both are receptive it can create trust and intimacy...very important ingredients to a well functioning relationship of any kind.

Gotta be careful with other people's "stuff"... it comes up at the wrong time and one can have shit everywhere.
I think it's important to avoid bringing out defensive behavior. Ely

I helped myself to a water bottle, cleaned up a mess in front of me....what are you talking about? Oh and i found the bling thing that I gave you on my driveway. Which kinda confused me.

Thank you Lildragon....I feel so missunderstood with this poem. Helps me to get your feedback. We all have work to do, so do I.

to me
it is a well conveyed
precise and concise statement
of the truth
yes...it takes a lot
of courage to admit and bare
one's insecurities and be honest..first of all..with self!
indeed it helps with the intimacy...i believe
as a human... we are bound to encounter at times, these landmines accidentally.
well penned.
