Afterglow
She glows on the silver screen
On celluloid, a perfect queen
Soft focus for her face's flaws
Defects from an unknown cause
But she retired long ago
Lost some of that stellar glow
Now loathe to looking in the mirror
Each wrinkle bringing forth a tear
I prefer her when she's real
No further effort to conceal
A star continuing to shine
I dry her eyes, and pour the wine.

I agree with you Sir Crow, it's much more beautiful to age naturally. Rather than a once-was attitude enjoying each stage of beauty and character development. I really enjoy how you express your unique love for film. Bravo!

I do love film. I wish classic films were more available to show my kids. Some of my favorites are from other countries..."Cinema Paradiso" is one of my all time favorites perhaps because it is a love affair with the movies.
