If the Past is Dead, then So Am i
The sun falls past the earth
and all grows silent now
the air is quiet
and the stars are still
stoic as the dirt
all the while i stare
four walls and a lightbulb glare..
memory is cruel
a mistress, a cold queen
she rids the sky of its blue
and then replaces it
with thoughts of you
I see you in my mind
standing here and holding me
undisturbed by the time
you're still there for comfort
to make me feel like im alive
you once had my heart in your hand
you told me you'd never let it fall-
And so you crushed it instead
I let you know my pain
and i let you hurt me more
and all i ever wanted was love
but all i ever knew
was the back of a door
The sun fell below my sight
its never day anymore
just the silence of night
and all grows silent now
the air is quiet
and the stars are still
stoic as the dirt
all the while i stare
four walls and a lightbulb glare..
memory is cruel
a mistress, a cold queen
she rids the sky of its blue
and then replaces it
with thoughts of you
I see you in my mind
standing here and holding me
undisturbed by the time
you're still there for comfort
to make me feel like im alive
you once had my heart in your hand
you told me you'd never let it fall-
And so you crushed it instead
I let you know my pain
and i let you hurt me more
and all i ever wanted was love
but all i ever knew
was the back of a door
The sun fell below my sight
its never day anymore
just the silence of night
