Red Is Your Color
I finally woke up
in a copper smell, the blood
tears like salt from the sea
lulling me from the sun
red is the color that you feed
the festering of wounds..
and baby i am a disease
growing inside you, eating away
cleanse me in the colors you bleed
I need to feel your pain
I finally woke up today
the hurt faded a little more
but never for the stains
red on the curtains like the sun
setting below the wistful sea..
and baby I am your disease
I settle there, just inside your veins
you drown me out with your poison
yet inside your head I remain
red is the color that you'll bleed
despite the demons in your eyes
the darkness you nurture
there in your crevices inside
red is the color that you'll bleed
we were always the same
you and me
in a copper smell, the blood
tears like salt from the sea
lulling me from the sun
red is the color that you feed
the festering of wounds..
and baby i am a disease
growing inside you, eating away
cleanse me in the colors you bleed
I need to feel your pain
I finally woke up today
the hurt faded a little more
but never for the stains
red on the curtains like the sun
setting below the wistful sea..
and baby I am your disease
I settle there, just inside your veins
you drown me out with your poison
yet inside your head I remain
red is the color that you'll bleed
despite the demons in your eyes
the darkness you nurture
there in your crevices inside
red is the color that you'll bleed
we were always the same
you and me
