Northern lights
Smile into tomorrows eve
one day split second cant retrieve
the hand could slip and loose the sparkle
an infatuation or a common sense debacle
we could walk on clouds
silver lined mares gallop silent strides
with that hope that swings like bridge of rope
each step we tremble and take hold
close our eyes and pray hoping never to alight
to walk the tightrope with love the balance pole
to topple and to fall or eyes ahead and in control
a smile posted was it returned
the R.S.V.P the light behind the dark clouds churn
expectancy to gamble on double or nothing
the coins in the air spinning never landing
the evening mist is romance days ebb tide
washing too and fro and side by side
paddle in the shallows
the Northern lights they may dazzle
capriciousness to enchant or disappoint
like a kiss unannounced
a mustard seed is so minute
yet flavour brims from every shoot
for tomorrow, today's no substitute
my mother the borealis of my roots
one day split second cant retrieve
the hand could slip and loose the sparkle
an infatuation or a common sense debacle
we could walk on clouds
silver lined mares gallop silent strides
with that hope that swings like bridge of rope
each step we tremble and take hold

to walk the tightrope with love the balance pole
