a soul named enigma

I wept inside of despair
and it answered from the darkness

"quiet woman free your mind
and behold all the wonders I can show you"

"within your screams you are most beautiful
with varying shades of ache
that lend you your compassion"

"I visit with you for a purpose
so that in your travels you would possess wisdom
a soul's currency
to be spent on those hungering"

"inside of you is teal flavored melancholy
gems garnered from a lifetime of pain
they adorn the crown you wear on your head"

"you are counted among the faithful
in the land of dread
you see the light where there is none"

"I gave you over to demons
to season you
you left them smelling of your sweet spice instead"

"you are uniquely flavored
tempered in patience
wrought from tears cried
I've collected each one
and named the emotions that brought them"

"you cried for other's suffering or joy
but in these many years shed none for yourself
you are an enigma to me"

"I sent you on this journey to learn something of me
as it turns out you've become the teacher"
