Three Wary Spectres and the ‘Unknown Thang’

“Three Wary Spectres and the ‘Unknown Thang’”

I’ve arrived
in Your lives
like a fistfull of knives
while running.

For, out of the blue—
like some ghastly ‘Boo!’—
I’ve appeared.

Now, I am here—
Chance cast a sudden weir—
‘midst the flows
of Our Lives.

Loving Your Mother
has been such sweet nectar,
yet We Three pass
like Three Wary Spectres—
in ... then out ...
in ... and out ...
of each Other’s Lives.

I long to assure You,
with words so exigent;
I wish to conjoin Our Hearts,
and beseech with reticence:

~

‘Please:
Let My actions ... and My smiles ...
be My testament of care!
Protect You,
nourish You,
and love You, I swear!’

~

Yes:

I’ve arrived
in Your lives
like a fistfull of knives
while running.

So fearful, We are,
of stumbling.
We misplace Our steps—
just bumbling—
.
Yet, not, have We,
‘tirely fallen;
hence, let Us commence
... reachin’, crawlin’ ...
bravely
for that ‘Unknown Thang’:

‘Togetherness’,
or, simply ...
Respect.

Author's Note
My once-married, now 'ex'-Girlfriend kept Me at bay from Her teenage daughters from Her previous marriage for two years; hence, I felt shunned and estranged from Them. This poem was written to reach out to Them -- and to Their Mother (My 'ex-') -- and make My good intentions known, and, hopefully, bond with them and bridge Our trust, and form a relationship. Never gave it to any of Them. Their Mother and I parted ways, and refused to allow Me to share it with them. ;(
