True Story

Once upon a time
once upon a rhyme
a life of tangled dreams
kept the truth
in circumscription.
A maiden walked along
with a notebook close beside her
looking for the truth
when she came upon a Writer.
He invited her to look
upon His written storybook
and her heart began to love
as she read His words in ink
which her heart could understand
but her mind would overthink.
He gazed at her with joy
and she wondered how He’d chosen
to look beyond her failures
and to shape her with His poems.
She had thought herself a fathom
which she considered was a vapor
believed she was disposable
a crumpled piece of paper.
Yet He sought her with His truth
corrected error in her branding
for a fathom is a measurement
of depth of understanding.
A fathom is important
when the truth is worth believing
and for He to fathom her
was a treasure she was seeking
while for she to fathom Him
was the connection she was needing.
So wonderful
these miracles
to be known and understood
transparency invited
not in judgement but for good
opening her heart
for to receive a touch so deeply
experiencing the power
of forgiveness
so completely
continually and constantly
this grace was in His focus
He could satisfy her craving
without using hocus pocus.
Once upon her story
did a maiden crave the truth
the truth of words so deep
that they filled her with their proof
of a passion that could breathe
words so powerfully adored
that they opened up her heart
expanded her
explored
words that touched her deeply
tending her like roses
collecting truth and certainties
brushing off supposes.
Once upon a time
there came a chapter in her story
infused with words of truth
that were shared in all their glory
revealing imperfections
revealing she was loved
healing painful memories
healing by His blood
meeting deep desires
giving sweet affection
planting brand new dreams
growing with connection.
He filled her with His words.
She responded with hers too.
He accepted her emotions.
She flourished and she grew.
Her life was freed with truth
as she read and turned His pages
and His once upon a time
proved consistent through the ages.
He’d been waiting for her long
now He looked with great delight
as she found Him in His words
in the stories from His life.
Truly ever after
her connection would discover
strength in understanding
and in fathoming
her Author.
