Worth Your Weight

You walk upon all the bridges you've burned,
You never settled for lessons well
learned,
And soon the time will chime in with what it's heard,
And then you'll find, guilt's a feeling that's earned.

Fingers linger cuts after each page turned,
Eyes wrestle pages over lessons yearned,
But still your joy can never be returned,
What emotions has this commotion stirred?

You walk upon all the bridges you've burned,
You never settled for lessons well
learned,
And soon the time will chime in with what it's heard,
And then you'll find, guilt's a feeling that's earned.

You're burning bridges with the speed of your feet,
You've never felt this kind of heat in retreat,
The pyrotechnics are a marvelous feat,
The shows not over so please take your seat.
