The Spectre's Storm
Clap, thunder roars like a lion
Clouds hang above as if sighing
Creak, branches sway with defiance
Leaves rustle in close alliance
Howl, wind's grueling, ghastly gale,
Demands attention with its wail
Crash, torrential rains descend
Tears of sadness, laughter blend
All colors are faded grey,
Reflections in puddles betray
Broken body, heart, mind, portrayed
Found courage to be afraid
Release all of the tension,
Vanquish negativity
Passion will be your pension
Once you've retired self pity
Troubles long gone unadressed
It's no wonder you are depressed
Repressed at your own behest
I think it's best you get some rest
Lest you find yourself distressed
Don't let yourself be swept away in the flood,
Don't be held back as you trudge through the mud
Don't drown in the water or sink in quick sand
Or in throes of uncertainty you'll certainly land
But perhaps this is not a good time for encouragement,
Because no good will come of emotional nourishment
While hearing haunting cries echo through the atmosphere
Dark figure looms before you, you kneel frozen in fear
A kiss from a long departed soul
The touch of death now takes its toll
It chills so deep, bones clatter and tremble
Spirit here to reap, fallen angel resembled
A solemn glare
As thunder blares
A bolt streaks through the pitch black skies
Reveals menacing, yet mournful eyes
He knows he must take that life you hold dear,
Though he is saddened greatly, contradiction so queer
Begrudging, reluctant, of excitement bereft
It's come time to finish this lethal theft
Swift and efficient, highly adept
Yet when all was done, as he silently wept
He turned and he droned, "It's a job.", and then left
The rain stopped at once, clouds drifted apart
Perhaps in the next life you'll find a fresh start
Clouds hang above as if sighing
Creak, branches sway with defiance
Leaves rustle in close alliance
