Someone Once Asked Me
what do you write about
in your poetry
i said,
i write about
love and
sex
hate and
death
music and
beauty
work and
drudgery
and i write about
things like trying to
fish out a television
remote that somehow
slipped inside a hole
in my blanket and
now rests somewhere
deep between the outer
fabric and the inner
stuffing
hungover
and half asleep at
3:53 AM
