Descent
My wayward friend,
I promise you will be forever drifting
Your passion shed,
There will be nothing left you find uplifting
Your heart has bled,
Now dormant, sands of time forever shifting
You've lost yourself,
So reckless, now your spirit you are risking
The path you're turning down is cruel, dark and unrelenting
You'll soon no longer know the way, winding roads intersecting
No matter which direction chosen
Untold troubles they'll be posing
Turn back while you still have the chance
Or be consumed by dooming trance
Travel till your legs give out,
Then wonder why you took this route
Against advice and better judgment
I find these ill choices repugnant
You're only ruining yourself,
Don't drag us down just like your health
Mentally and physically, rapidly horrifically declining,
Once was climbing, now you're out of time, it's sliding
You're rolling down this slope, soon you'll be in fatal flight
Plummeting without hope, until you've seen your final light
I know it's a sad thing to see
But if one thought can console me
It's knowing it will soon be over
And you no longer can control her
Your self inflicted suffering put to an end
Your long extended suicide, you've made no amends
All that you could offer was a small apology
A plea for life, utter a prayer in some mythology
You had all the time you needed,
So as you laid and pleaded
I felt nothing but contempt,
Because I knew that it was empty
The time for that is gone, and believe me there was plenty
But you threw it all away, one poor choice after another
I don't feel sorry for you, all I want to do is smother
Take the pillow from behind your head, and press it to your face
I'll be relieved when you are dead, we're forced to watch all your mistakes
Seeing the person you once were slipping farther every day,
It's too painful to see you in this state of spiraling decay
Now that you are diminished, all I want to do is finish
What you started,
So we can all move on with our lives
When you're departed,
Your lovely legacy upon this earth is leaving children traumatized
Do us all a favor and stay far from our dreams
We've seen the last of you, you're the last thing that we need
But if you happen to appear once in a while,
I hope it's just to see you gasp
As you inhale your breath last
What you do to yourself, you do to the ones who care
How blinded were you to pretend that you had no one there?
I promise you will be forever drifting
Your passion shed,
There will be nothing left you find uplifting
Your heart has bled,
Now dormant, sands of time forever shifting
You've lost yourself,
So reckless, now your spirit you are risking
The path you're turning down is cruel, dark and unrelenting
