I Throw Up My Hands
I Throw Up My Hands At The Attention Span
Of Those Corrupted And Tech Interrupted
And Wanting Everything By Some Immediacy
Who Can't Speak In Language Nor Even Spell
Who Expect All Knowledge To Be Theirs And Free
I Fear It Is The Sign Of This World's Death Knell ;
When Some Choose Kayne West Over Shakespeare
When Some Must Count Characters Rather Than
Read Characters In Theater In Some Classical Play
Some Run From The Thought Of A Phone Call In Fear
When They Would Rather Text Just Because They Can ,
Or Ignore You If You Call Them Just Because They May
I Long For Old Days , When Respect Was More Than A Word
And This From One Who Said Never Trust One Over Thirty
And Now ?
I Cannot Believe It , But Never Ever Trust One Under Thirty !
When Did I Get Old ?
When Did Respect Die ?
Am I Really Asking For Too Much ?
When Did Our Souls Get Sold ?
When Did It Become Popular To Lie ?
Please Communicate , Just Stay In Touch !
