Watch Me Close
At some distant moment if you chance to look my way and notice a tear stained cheek,
Don’t ask me to turn around or even call my name,
For the silent cry of yesterday has reached it’s peak.
For if you watch me close enough you’ll see the pattern has long been set.
So, go look at a rainbow,
Dare to dream in a cloud.
Remember that happiness is often hidden,
Close enough to be forbidden,
Clutching at the heart.
So if you watch me close enough and notice a tear stained cheek,
Just know that I am trying to remember a lost friend,
For the whispers of the wind have long blown the memories away
Don’t ask me to turn around or even call my name,
For the silent cry of yesterday has reached it’s peak.
For if you watch me close enough you’ll see the pattern has long been set.
So, go look at a rainbow,
Dare to dream in a cloud.
Remember that happiness is often hidden,
Close enough to be forbidden,
Clutching at the heart.
So if you watch me close enough and notice a tear stained cheek,
Just know that I am trying to remember a lost friend,
For the whispers of the wind have long blown the memories away
