Anxiety rises
feeling unrest
learning to focus
upon the breath

drawing air deeply
extending exhales
being mindful
calmness prevails

engaging mind and body
practising how
be rather than do
consciously in now

accepting each moment
clarifying sign
appreciation occurs
no notion of time

thoughts may wander
but without judgement
returning again
to here in the present

releasing insecurity
of a buried past
freed from worry
resolve steadfast
