Another Day

we had some laughs
stuck in detention class
opened our hearts like friends
yeah, I believed we were friends

I knew you were troubled
but fuck, so was I
didn’t give it a thought
until I saw your eyes
walking down that hall
I said hi
shook you out that trance
told me to leave the building

I felt you were brilliant
carefree when no one was watching
not that you didn’t scare me
when you were in silence mode
I said fuck them all, but I didn’t mean it
there is a better part to humanity
you played with guns like toys
no one taught you responsibility

guess I just cared too much
I thought about life
from the bunnies to the bodies that fell
why do they not matter to you?
is reality complacent to ones view?

they’ll say you were mental
maybe a terror
but misunderstood
even in the next world

it was like nothing
like another day for you
one shot, two, and again and again
blood on the floor
screams echoing like a movie

everyone wants to know
could something more have been done?
that’s what brings me chills
a simple yes
