The Telling Stains

Splattered and dried on wrinkled sheets
Signs of lust and treachery
Forensics hovers overtime
In thrall to fatal lechery

The cop muses on the ivory stains
Has visions of positions tried
Vicious twists and vagrant turns
No doubt that it was quite a ride

Then the dried and reddish drops
Patterned beneath forensic light
The cop spots the truest killer's way
Of violence in the heat of night

He can't keep his knowledge close
Won't consider throwing in the towel
The truth lies in these crusted stains
The sign-off of a femme fatale.
