Cool cats on the porch
Cool cats!
alley cats!
purrrfect people on the porch.
yelling anything you want,
down to the sidewalks,
down to the leaf littered street corners,
with the pitter patter;
of feet,
of hearts,
at men
walking with stacked pizza boxes in their hands.
over twisty steel black railing rails
from the shadows,
from the 4 door apartments hanging.
friendly smiling faces
drinking alcohol.
inciting words,
inciting feelings,
cool cats on the porch.
with your bushy bushy tails,
and looks that lick & groom.
"bring us pizza",
"bring us poetry",
a party walking down the street.
like catching the Macy's day parade float
running rampant,
violent and out of control,
out of the sky,
and i didn't even bring liquor with me.
welcome and inviting.
an offer to come perch upon
the fence line,
the wood planks
with the knot holes for peeking
next to the park.
read us the raw emotion dripping wax,
read us your delicious disease,
the precise time you knew
that words took you up against the wall
breathing in ear canals as a lover,
breath of the night.
squeeze out your desires.
squeeze out the thought blips and moans
that make us human.
you've multiplied since we last met
and thus the audience grows
immersing with luminous eyes.
it's so much easier to confide our sins,
our secrets,
in the resting faces of strangers.
so lets pick up where we left off alley cats
and cut a rug.
friendly smiling faces
drinking alcohol.
inciting words,
inciting feelings,
cool cats on the porch.
