Tired of following what doesn't fit

If one study shows that X amount of marriages end in divorce,
and another study shows that X amount of people in marriages cheat,
and yet more studies can be shown to prove that while some marriages do last, many of these only stuck it out for:
a.)kids
b.)financial reasons
c.) religious purposes, or
d.) any mixture of the above stated;
well then shouldn't it stand to reason that our culture,
our religions
have been teaching society the wrong lessons about love
All this time....

Maybe what we should be teaching our children about love
isn't a story about one man and one woman forever
in some kind of fairy tale embrace.

Maybe what we should be teaching our children is that Love,
between a man and a woman comes and goes,
comes and goes
That it is ok for love to end.
That it is natural.
It doesn't mean that someone wasn't good enough.
It doesn't mean that you failed in any way.
That it is ok to let it go
and know that it will be back....

And that it's always beautiful while it lasts.

Maybe society needs a re-evaluation in loving education.
So many people in misery over love....
so many people turning away from love and choosing empty sex with strangers instead.
All for fear of failing.
Who can live up to a fairy tale?
*sigh*
