Good as Gold

I'll be quiet in the corner
for the rest of my life
I'll be a paragon of virtue
and a perfect wife
I wont argue
and I wont scold
only for you
I'll do what I'm told
and I'll always be
as good as gold

If the money runs low
and your hair grows thin
I'll always have dinner ready
when you get in
there'll be a drink on the table
and a smile on my face
I'll always look my best
and I always know my place
and only for you I'll be
as good as gold

I'll kiss you in the morning
and cuddle you at night
smoothing out your wrinkles
so we'll never ever fight
I'll raise all your children
praise you when you're down
and even when you're mean to me
I'll never wear a frown
and only for you I'll be
as good as gold

I'll cry into my pillow
if you stay out all night
but I'd never let you see it
coz that wouldn't feel right
but I'll understand
when you need to be alone
so I'll always wait up
for when you come home
and only for you I'll be
as good as gold.
