Humility
She's all I am and all I'll ever be:
See the eyebrows lowered and the veil;
And eye that glances down so mutedly,
Made up so that the cheek's a shade of pale;
This cannot be compared, save to the dark
Behind me that drifts through my jet black hair;
Or the well shadowed lip that one can mark
And note as simply modest; it may dare,
One day, one hour, one moment after this,
To lift right up, in hopes there is a chance
I'll find you looking at me. Will you kiss
My lips or are you minded to advance
Your tongue to press right in, so you can see
She's all I am in my humility?
See the eyebrows lowered and the veil;
And eye that glances down so mutedly,
Made up so that the cheek's a shade of pale;
This cannot be compared, save to the dark
Behind me that drifts through my jet black hair;
