Graffiti: a pigeon sneeze away from losing my mind
Little yellow daisy
growing out of dilapidated industrial parks,
rusty concrete creek ravine.
overgrown
taken back by the earth.
dripping wet multi font paint from the graffiti reads
"AKIRA",
"PANDA" upside down,
paint the walls begging to be torn down.
busted factory windows,
& red brick
off north 6th street.
past ball fields
where kids break sound barriers
running faster they they ever thought possible.
thieves stole the cartoon stegosaurus
from the crumbling steel sheds,
dual train tracks
charging through the vacant yard.
cardboard samurai seeking salvation from eternal slumbers ignorance,
long-billed crows that would sooner cut you down than grow for you,
and a megazord that worked at a every porn shop in town;
marched on dream playgrounds
years ago.
I'm not who I use to be,
Stranger to myself,
Have I gone mad?
