seldom works,
and I really dunno why ..

When I first read the opening line it seemed like a silly contradiction, but after reading the poem it made perfect sense, and the idea as a whole is intriguing. Thank you for an interesting thought (feeling?).

I think it's both. You can think something and feel emotional over the thought. Or, you can feel something and think about it. But more oft than not, it's the former.
