Under the Desert Moon

love was made
under the desert moon
illuminating every shadow
you and I beamed bright
no star could compare

the sound of owls and coyotes
filled the Mohave air
gently caressing my body
your lips met me there
under the desert moon

sand travels, so did I
undiscovered caverns
where I’d not dared enter
the moonlit sky my guide
under the desert moon

barren landscape, thirsty roots
together we controlled the weather
watering my dry land
pollinating geraea and desert daisys
together, under the desert moon
