Foolishly Fading Fast
I used to love the rain
dripping wet
upon my naked chest
glistening
inside, a house of rainbows
bestowing and bending
to the absence,
needed and seeded in hope
where feelings once grew
I used to give myself over
to the moon
succumbing to her
gravitation
pulling upon my shoulder
a need to support
an existence
void of light pushed
behind closed doors
of shame, left with senselessness
unnamed and blamed
for jumping over you
Stares sit blankly
upon the stars
no blinking or
thinking as nothingness drifts
darkness beckons
gripping as another night
is foolishly fading fast
dripping wet
upon my naked chest
glistening
inside, a house of rainbows
bestowing and bending
to the absence,
needed and seeded in hope
where feelings once grew
I used to give myself over
to the moon
succumbing to her
gravitation
pulling upon my shoulder
a need to support
an existence
void of light pushed
behind closed doors
of shame, left with senselessness
unnamed and blamed
for jumping over you
Stares sit blankly
upon the stars
no blinking or
thinking as nothingness drifts
darkness beckons
gripping as another night
is foolishly fading fast
