All the Things I Wish to Be
I wish that I could be a star
To shine for you when you are far
To sail the sky at night and be
At peace for all eternity
I wish that I could be the moon
To smile and watch as lovers swoon
To light your path along the way
And know that you will be okay
I wish that I could be the sun
To melt the snow when winter’s done
To brighten days when moods are low
And be with you where you may go
I wish that I could be a cloud
To crash and thunder love out loud
To rain with you if you may cry
And lift you up so you can fly
I wish that I could be the earth
To show you just how much you’re worth
To give you ground under your feet
And warm you when you want for heat
I wish that I could be your love
The rocks and trees and all above
But you don’t want me; that’s okay
I’ll still love you anyway
