Childhood Dreams, Childish Things.
An end to childhood dreams
No need of childish things?
Our adult lives, a puzzle
Missing the straight sides
No instruction for life's construction
We’ve strayed outside the lines
Of the
Children’s picture book
Just one glance, one look
Reveals the damage done
Once bright now merely
Shades of grey
All our colours have run
An end to childhood dreams
No need of childish things?
As broken toys are cast aside
Fragments of another time
Another time, a child's face
Such fragile dreams
Now have no place
No time for childlike play.
Life's mysteries, long since faded
I hear the playground bell no more
And I'm feeling super jaded
An end to childhood dreams
No need of childish things?
