Do you appreciate my raw honesty?
How I share my emotional vulnerability?

Dear poetry,
I've opened up to you even more than before
And there is so much more that I have in store
Staying in a positive mood has become a chore
For there are travesties of justice I can't ignore
Dear poetry,
You've helped me through many trying times
Those moments when I almost lost my mind
When my inner peace was nowhere to be found
Making me have thoughts of not being around
Dear poetry,
You've morphed into my cerebral lover
Releasing all of my tension like no other
Helping to keep my rage deep undercover
Preventing my venting from putting me asunder

How can we keep our rage and venting under cover and open our heart to poetry?

Poetry is written expression whereas violence is physical expression. So writing down our thoughts instead of acting out our rage/venting prevents us from doing something drastic that'll put us asunder (i.e. jail, grave, depression, etc...). When one is undercover you don't "see" what they're doing. You may read about it or hear about it but you aren't seeing their actions. Thanks for reading and inquiring about my poem.
