Let my poetic verses hit you like Negro spirituals
May each and every word uplift you and heal you
As I give you the exclusive insight of my hind sight
By breaking down my focus of all our folks' plights

The equality fight will be a fight that's fought infinitely
They don't understand our pain as if it's written hieroglyphically
There's more sympathy when something happens to a damn dog
That's when they're quick to fix or enact new legislative laws

Our cause gets ignored more than an animal on all fours
As these overseers keep getting away with using excessive force
Their mission is relaying the transmission of who's the real boss
Making it hard to cope and keep hope when another life is loss
