Name
The years are like rain,
as they pelt across this window of mine,
and my soul struggles to cross the line,
and my heart no longer beats in time.
I've forgotten your name,
and forgotten you were ever mine.
That long lost summer,
I laughed and cried and felt all my pride,
ebbing and flowing with the tide,
never had a reason to hide.
I've forgotten your name,
and forgotten you were ever mine.
The darkness came in quick,
it shrouded every day in a cloud,
evil whispers, suddenly loud,
things became lost, never found.
I've forgotten your name,
and forgotten you were ever mine.
Call my name,
in the howling winds,
and the thrashing rain,
and fight through my pain,
in the frozen hail,
and the brutal gales,
and wipe away my shame,
in winter's storm,
until its warm,
and call my name.
Cos I've forgotten your name,
and forgotten you were ever mine,
forgotten that you knew me,
once upon a time.
as they pelt across this window of mine,
and my soul struggles to cross the line,
and my heart no longer beats in time.
I've forgotten your name,
and forgotten you were ever mine.
That long lost summer,
I laughed and cried and felt all my pride,
ebbing and flowing with the tide,
never had a reason to hide.
I've forgotten your name,
and forgotten you were ever mine.
The darkness came in quick,
it shrouded every day in a cloud,
evil whispers, suddenly loud,
things became lost, never found.
I've forgotten your name,
and forgotten you were ever mine.
Call my name,
in the howling winds,
and the thrashing rain,
and fight through my pain,
in the frozen hail,
and the brutal gales,
and wipe away my shame,
in winter's storm,
until its warm,
and call my name.
Cos I've forgotten your name,
and forgotten you were ever mine,
forgotten that you knew me,
once upon a time.
