Trying to Ignore It All
Everywhere that I look I see that you are
There. Everything and every shining star
Has your name all over it on it. The stuffed
Animals and leggings. Cigarettes you puffed
While wearing one of your shirts that you let
Me keep as a reminder. Gone is every threat
Of coldness as you always pulled me in closer
Underneath the messy bed sheets. A bulldozer
Of memories flood both my head and heart.
How am I getting over it with a new start?
There. Everything and every shining star
Has your name all over it on it. The stuffed
Animals and leggings. Cigarettes you puffed
While wearing one of your shirts that you let
Me keep as a reminder. Gone is every threat
Of coldness as you always pulled me in closer
Underneath the messy bed sheets. A bulldozer
Of memories flood both my head and heart.
How am I getting over it with a new start?
