On your way up the ladder
You will meet puff adders
Attempting to inject the venom
into your reservoir of positivism
Screaming "murder"
on yr name
Wanting to see you fall
They will endeavor to extinguish
your innate glow
On your way up the ladder
Ankles are bound to ache from the continuous climb;
Step by step
Breath by breath
Your doubts increase
like a rich man's love for wealth
"Is this ladder taking me
to heaven or hell ?"
You ask yourself
Oblivious of the obvious
As pain invades your brain
But don't lose hope
Look up to the Almighty
He will nullify the threat
So that you can testify his Grace
And rectify your mistakes
For his name's sake
He led you on that ladder
and wont abandon you to suffer
But to make you tougher
When you reach the top
You will walk taller

sometimes when we try and climb.. there are things in the way , quite often we feel like there are too many obstacles in the way , and tis too much of a struggle just to get to the top but you know , we are going to feel so good if we reach the top of that ladder, despite our OBSTACLES.. great piece of writing .. i like your reference to the ladder , an uphill struggle

That's normal. When you climb up, you will meet difficulties and doubt, but Who placed you there will care for you.
