Fairy, this is very touching and a poem I think every parent should read. I sincerely hope that your relationship improves. I just watched "Lady Bird" and it made me think a lot about the relationship we have with our children...it's a wonderful, poignant mother/daughter story. Your poem reminds me of the very last scene.
I shudder sometimes thinking of the amount of time I wasted without interacting with my children. I am finding that I tell them all the time that I love them but if it's never shown then the word is just anther four letter word. At least I'm coming to this realization in their teenage years. I can't take back the lost time but I can certainly make the best of what time we have now and in the future. I needed this one...thank you. Brava!

It's well made. Both the mother and daughter roles were nominated for Academy Awards. I am from California and it's set in Sacramento so that's a bonus.
