Bridge Over
You have eyes that say so much,
But lips that barely say anything
At all. Darling, when you clutch
My hand tightly in yours, you cling
To what is your lifeline, savior, and
Angel. Do not tell me you do not
Feel the warmth when my hand
And smile shines. You had caught
Me when we have both believed in
Fairy tales and something that is real.
Life cannot tell where we have been.
We were both taught to actually feel
Something deep within our souls
Because we are bridging the holes.
But lips that barely say anything
At all. Darling, when you clutch
My hand tightly in yours, you cling
To what is your lifeline, savior, and
Angel. Do not tell me you do not
Feel the warmth when my hand
And smile shines. You had caught
Me when we have both believed in
Fairy tales and something that is real.
Life cannot tell where we have been.
We were both taught to actually feel
Something deep within our souls
Because we are bridging the holes.
