Little Things

You cut the small hairs
On top of my head,
That I could not see,
While straddling my thighs.

You baked me cookies
With a pinch of love.
Taught me your secrets,
And helped me bake pies.

You gave me some books
With hand-written notes
In three languages!
Gifts I'll always keep.

You hug me and kiss
My lips and fingers.
You touch my body
And keep me from sleep.

You talk straight with me
Explaining, sharing,
And confessing all.
Then, listening too.

You said that you love
Me well. That thrilled me!
You said you'd love me
Always. And I you.

You look straight at me
Staring, not blinking,
Smiling slightly and
Studying my face.

You lend a toothbrush,
A towel and soap,
Share your bed with me,
When I'm at your place.

Many little things,
You say and you do.
I see and notice,
I know the meaning.

No need to tell me
I will understand.
No need to explain,
I know your feeling.

Author's Note
I couldn't spend New Year's Eve with my lady friend, so I wrote her a poem about the little things she does to show that she loves me.
