Daddy's Girl
I will always be your little girl,
always and forever,
I'm Daddy's little girl.
My first word was you,
my first feelings are being on top of the world;
safe upon your shoulders,
my favorite memories all have you.
Oh, I'm Daddy's little girl.
Still I wondered why.
Why do I live with mommy?
Why isn't daddy here?
Why is it we're so ignored?
For weeks, months, and then you're there.
Like a poof of magic.
Still I'm Daddy's little girl.
And then I got it.
What a child's mind could not.
You cheat,
you liar,
you jerk,
you bully,
you meanie.
I'm still Daddy's little girl.
I'm you kid,
I'm you child,
I'm your little girl.
I've got your eyes,
I've got your skin,
I've got your height,
your hair,
I've got your humor,
I cheat in games,
I love cartoons,
I'm Daddy's little girl.
And when you're gone,
I'm sad,
when you're here,
"happy" can't even describe it.
All I want is to be in you're arms,
safe on top of the world.
But what do you know?
Never here,
living somewhere else.
Ignoring my sister,
oh I can see why she hates you.
She speaks her mind,
loud and clear.
I'm to afraid to do that,
oh yes, we're both you're kids.
Then I worry,
you have four of us.
She speaks her mind to,
will you one day turn on my little sister?
Who seemed like a gift from Santa,
you being the man in red,
so cruelly turned into a petty thief;
steeling away their love.
Did you know she asks me,
things about you,
that I can't honestly answer,
Cause she still Loves you;
so innocently naive.
And what of the youngest?
Still so tiny and small,
will you turn on her too?
I've begun to boil with rage.
Wondering what to do.
Anger rising,
so dangerously high.
You're not my daddy anymore.
I don't know if you ever were.
I know things now.
I get the picture.
And I wish it never occurred.
Gone is the days,
safe on you're shoulders,
sleeping in you're arms,
laughing with you,
playing.
Daddy...
I Still Love You.
I'm always Daddy's little girl.
