Blue Moon

Moon so blue…
What can I do
To get you to stay awhile?
I know I’m small
But soon you’ll be gone
And I was hoping to make you smile

Moon so blue…
Who did it to you?
What’s making you sad tonight?
Day after day…
What can I say?
Who has misinterpreted your light?

Moon so blue…
Your glow is rare!
And shining for all to see
I know you’re alone,
But when I look up, I’m at home
And comforted by your beauty

Moon so blue…
Cheer up old friend!
You’re just like a star- but better!
I know you’ve been wandering around all night
But one day we’ll be together

Moon so blue…
So bright and bold
Everyone’s bound to see!
All the eyes will stare.. Up in the air
But soon your hue will flee!

Moon so blue…
Profound and true
And lovely to say the least…
I know it’s late and you cannot wait
But please linger with me in the east

Moon so blue…
Who did it to you?
How can I get you to stay?
Wandering about for love I suppose
If only you knew- I look out for you everyday

Moon so blue…
What can I do
To get you to stay awhile?
I know I’m small
As I look up in awe…
Only wishing to make you smile.
