Road Trip
I was terrified of the world
so I faced my fears head on
in the driver's seat.
Chased dusk through the desert,
and morning over mountains
moving them.
MAKE WAY!
For I am here.
I am here..
I made it..
I made it over my peaks
Stumble. Crashing down in a heap.
Rock bottom.
"The only place to go now is up,"
They say.
"Well I have to stand up first.
Can I get some help?
This shit hurts!"
"It's not that bad,
others have it worse."
Back in the car.
My tank is on E.
The gauge is broken
so to others it reads full.
I know my car though,
and while the gauge
on my face
reads happy
I am sad- I mean-full- I mean- EMPTY!
My tank is empty.
I am the only person
who can drive this car
and fill the tank.
Set the cruise control.
I want to go home
but I have to keep chasing the sunrise,
so I know tomorrow comes.
Speed bump.
The only problem is
I don't want to keep driving anymore
and I lost control of the wheel a long time ago.
