The Strongest Man I Have Ever Known
The strongest man I have ever known
Did not have super powers
Nor did he have muscles like mountains
He was just a man with a will of steel
The strongest man I have ever known
Spent months trapped in his own mind
Not understanding why no one could understand him
He had to learn how to speak again
The strongest man I have ever known
Could not use both of his hands
Though he spent many days working harder than most
He would never give up on himself
The strongest man I have ever known
Put me on a pedestal
Though often I was not deserving of his praise
His love never faltered
The strongest man I have ever known
Slipped into silence one day
Shedding tears as he heard my voice
Telling him ‘I love you’ for the last time
The strongest man I have ever known
Will forever be with me
My guardian angel and strength when things get hard
He is my daddy
Did not have super powers
Nor did he have muscles like mountains
He was just a man with a will of steel
The strongest man I have ever known
Spent months trapped in his own mind
Not understanding why no one could understand him
He had to learn how to speak again
The strongest man I have ever known
Could not use both of his hands
Though he spent many days working harder than most
He would never give up on himself
The strongest man I have ever known
Put me on a pedestal
Though often I was not deserving of his praise
His love never faltered
The strongest man I have ever known
Slipped into silence one day
Shedding tears as he heard my voice
Telling him ‘I love you’ for the last time
The strongest man I have ever known
Will forever be with me
My guardian angel and strength when things get hard
He is my daddy
