No it's not Blood
Dark liquid will be spilt here tonight
and I don't mean the kind that gushes through rocks
once more potent, now way less productive, not worth the ride
my hands twitch over, and over, they fight against my will
this facade of a perfect life shows cracks, finally crumbling
the quake of my wrath is no longer in slumbers
the only antidote to your sinister faults
Dark liquid will be spilt here at this hour
and not the type that oozes out of wet gangrenous flesh
my putrid heart is colonized by what we've named love
i'm forced to keep this dead bulk , unable to amputate the contaminated parts
so I quarantine
my determination,
a disinfectant that burns out those arcane flashbacks
Dark liquid will be spilt here this minute
and it isn't the type that lays at the bottom of treatment plants
this manure of a life we spent together has me repulsed
my pride is an obstacle no longer, i will try to salvage what's still viable
my mind is serene now,
those murky days forever bleached out
Gone
Dark liquid spills around us now
as l slice these vessels open to free what's left of me
i can no longer be the artery that feeds your vein
my asphyxiation, your elixir no more
i won't pump you with my pain
your demons have been aborted from my brain
it's healing as hope covers it with its delicate buds
Dark liquid had been spilt and drained
out came mortal jealousy,
pernicious hate
and synergistic misery
it wasn't blood,
it was dark, black, cruel
an unfortunate dependency

I love the feel and overall write but I didn't connect with it emotionally, maybe due to the imagery. Very dark, very black. I loved the last stanza.

this poem was written from an addict's perspective that has decided to break the cycle. whether the object of addiction is drugs or bad romance is open for interpretation. hope this helps :)

that was really good and deep it drug me through it word for word line for line. I can really relate to the pain that I can feel in your writing
