Calm in the Storm
When we met, I was lost
Amid the writhing sea that is my mind
I was drowning, slowly sinking
Then our paths intertwined
You were shy and quiet
Barely speaking for awhile
Until I coaxed you open; you revealed
The most heart-warming smile
I didn't know I needed you
Until I was in your arms
Shaking, sobbing, you were there
Shielding me from harm
You are my calm in the storm
I'll hold you dearly while I can
Your chilled blue eyes fixed on me
Since our journey began
Amid the writhing sea that is my mind
I was drowning, slowly sinking
Then our paths intertwined
You were shy and quiet
Barely speaking for awhile
Until I coaxed you open; you revealed
The most heart-warming smile
I didn't know I needed you
Until I was in your arms
Shaking, sobbing, you were there
Shielding me from harm
You are my calm in the storm
I'll hold you dearly while I can
Your chilled blue eyes fixed on me
Since our journey began
