Starving for Hipbones.
Looking in the mirror
and Ana's looking back.
She's taunting
Breathtaking
and more importantly, she's right.
What I'd give
to watch the skin peel back
Reach in and pull
and throw these bones;
Breaking that blessed mirror
Breaking Ana
but she builds me up, to take me down.

why do you break her?

it says that you break Ana but if she is breathtaking why would you do so? is this more a feeling of displeasure towards her (or possibly yourself?) ??
I like the way this was written but I seem to lack the mental capacity to completely comprehend the meaning behind it... Could you enlighten me or is this just a piece for us to wax on about finding meaning in our own observations?

Ana is anorexia.
Often people going through anorexia battle through a love hate relationship with it.
They want that perfect body, they want those hipbones and collar bones.
But at the same time, they don't want to constantly feel worthless, fat, and ugly. They don't want to be anorexic.
But most times anorexia (Ana), wins and they'd much rather be 'perfect'.

that was a very well written piece then! :) it leaves you wondering just what is meant behind the words while portraying a side of life that not everyone would have insight to. very interesting. I liked it

Even as a male I understood the rage and devotion to a torturous relationship. plutonic destruction! really descriptive. simple yet deep!
