Image for the poem sorrow

sorrow's gates

gentle sighs escape my lips
where they whisper
my life's in peril

heard by the gods
who understand these delicate murmurs

they send their love
laced on the wings of doves
an answer given

i've crucified myself enough
my penance received

within sorrow's gates
I am welcomed
tenderly cleansed head to toe
free from the heaviness of being

an all encompassing realm
it washes over my spirit
& brings emotions
I thought long since dead

my life in fates hand
I walk through the forest of enlightenment
with many paths to tread
I am ushered towards the high one

a new life is then born
of the journey
